The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' star hosted 'SNL' with her parents there.
Dakota Johnson's parents might not see Fifty Shades of Grey, but they did come out to support her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live.
Johnson used her monologue as an opportunity to joke about the R-rated film based on E.L. James’ best-selling novel. "Fifty Shades of Grey is the novel that made you never want to touch your mother's Kindle again," she said.
She further brought up the changed perception she feels once people see her in the role of Anastasia Steele. She said her dry cleaner won't look her in the eye anymore, and her dog walker now gives her a wink when taking her leash off the wall.

As for it being an award winning movie, she joked, "I have a funny feeling at next year's Oscars, it's going to be… not anywhere."
At the 2015 Oscars, Johnson came with her mom Melanie Griffith, and the two had a painful moment on the red carpet when Griffith admitted she had not seen the film. Johnson says, "Maybe one day," but her mom responds, "I don't think I can. I think it would be strange."
SNL made fun of this situation when a man in the audience asked her to sign his wife's gag ball, and she responded, "Now I understand why my parents won’t be seeing my movie."

Griffith and Don Johnson were both in the audience as their daughter spoke about the time that Griffith hosted the same show in December of 1988.
"Right after the show, my father got down on one knee and proposed to her, for the second time. And exactly 9 months later I was born. So I must’ve been conceived after the show or even during the show."
When Johnson asked if they were embarrassed to watch her now, her dad admitted, "We were just afraid you were going to be naked."
In Fifty Shades of Grey, Johnson gets naked a lot as the film chronicles her romantic relationship with billionaire Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and his love for S&M. The film has grossed over $140 million dollars in just a few weeks.
