Taylor Swift says she will be there for Selena Gomez no matter what!
Is Taylor Swift protective of Selena Gomez?
"Yea, absolutely," the singer said in a new interview with Australia's 2Day FM Breakfast Show on Monday morning.
Swift, 24, explained that while she is protective, she also realizes that everyone has to make their own decisions -- including Gomez, 22.

"I think that one thing about learning to be the best friend you can possibly be is knowing when you have to let people figure things out on their own... and I do trust her," explained the "Out Of The Woods" songstress.
She continued, "I think she has good judgement, she's going to do amazing things with her life... she's incredibly intelligent. People — it would scare them if they knew how smart she is."
Selena also confirms that Taylor truly believes in her and her intelligence. She told the ladies of The Talk about a recent fireside chat regarding business and relationships the two besties had.
“[Taylor] just kind of looked at me and was like, ‘Selena, if you're the smartest person in the room, I think you're going to be in the wrong room,'" Gomez remembered. "She thinks I should constantly surround myself with people who are going to make me better, that are going to challenge and motive me. It kind of stuck to me. I want to surround myself with those people.”
But there is one thing Taylor won't do — tell Selena exactly what to do.
"Be there for your friends no matter what they're going through and never try to boss them around."
