E.J. Johnson stopped by the ET set to talk about how he lost 50 pounds.
E.J. Johnson, star of the reality show #RichKids of Beverly Hills and son of Earvin "Magic" Johnson, stopped by the ET set to talk about how he lost 50 pounds.

The 22-year-old NYU student and author of the blog EJJohnsonStyle.com revealed to ET's Kevin Frazier that he underwent gastric sleeve surgery -- a decision we saw him struggling with on the #RichKids season finale.
"I feel amazing," said E.J., now 50 pounds lighter. "I feel great."
In the surgery, doctors removed 80 percent of his stomach, making it the size of a banana. Prior to going through with the surgery, E.J. sat down with Star Jones, who had a gastric bypass surgery more than a decade ago.
"She told me that it was definitely a tool for a whole new life," said E.J. "It was not something that was the easy way out by any means. This is not something that you do and then all of a sudden everything is gone and you're skinny and you're a new person. It's definitely a tool and something that you have to work at."
E.J. explained that he still has to exercise and eat healthy in order to reach and maintain his weight-loss goals.

While he did suffer from teasing when he was younger, E.J. insists that he made this decision for himself.
"As I grew older it was less teasing," said E.J. "It's not like I was bullied into doing this."

E.J.'s dad, Magic Johnson, stood by his son the whole way -- as he and his wife, Cookie, did very publicly last year after E.J. first publicly discussed being gay.
"He was 100 percent supportive of course," said E.J. "He supports me in everything that I do. He's been one of my biggest cheerleaders."
