Jeremy Renner Got Secretly Married!

In a recent interview with Capitol File magazine, The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner revealed that he secretly married Sonni Pacheco, the mother of his young daughter, putting an end to the long-running rumors that their relationship was on the rocks.

Renner and Pacheco welcomed their baby daughter Ava Berlin in March, 2013. In the interview, Renner claims the reason no one knows about the marriage is due to his attempts at keeping his family out of the media spotlight.

"I have tried to protect my family's privacy, my wife's privacy. I don’t need her to get hammered with my life. Privacy issues are important because I want her to go about her day without being bothered," the 46-year-old Oscar nominee said.

Renner, who was promoting his upcoming film Kill The Messenger, says that he is often bothered by photographers and paparazzi when he's out and about.

"It's annoying being followed when I'm with my family," Renner told Capitol File. "It's not just me--everyone [in Hollywood] has to deal with that. I've been talked about a whole lot, because the less I put out there, the less people know, and it makes it interesting, I assume."

As for fatherhood, Renner said that it's one of the best things to ever happened to him.

"The only thing I think about when I’m not with my baby is, 'How do I get to my baby?' I need to get to her, and I’m very miserable when I don’t see her. I really love being a father," Renner said.

In his upcoming film Kill The Messenger, Renner plays real-life journalist Gary Webb who reveals the CIA's involvement in arming rebels and smuggling drugs into the country, and then becomes the target of a violent and aggressive smear campaign.

The film, Renner's first as a producer, is set to hit theaters October 10.
