"Let her try," she told HuffPost Entertainment about Lively attempting to become "the next Martha Stewart," a.k.a. the "mother of all how-to's."
"I don't mean that facetiously!" she explained, laughing off the obvious dis. "I mean, it's stupid, she could be an actress! Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress? I just did a movie yesterday, though -- I can't even tell you about it -- but I want to be Blake Lively."
Lively told E! News in response, "I want to have my own path professionally and even as she said, I'm an actress. I'm doing something totally different so now I sort of have two careers going on and it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out. But really what it is, is I have two passions. And I think ultimately, I will always be doing both, but one is going to be paying the bills better than the other."
Lively added of the big job jump, "It was a very natural transition for me. Everything that Preserve is everything that I grew up around in a big way. My mom is somebody who made everything by hand and anything she didn't make by hand was a discovery and the discovery was often something that was found in a thrift store that was half broken or falling apart. Or it was something an artisan only made a few of, but we couldn't afford so we would just go and look at it every day and one day she would just buy it and hide it from my dad."

Despite recent back-and-forth quotes, Lively (along with her husband Ryan Reynolds) and Stewart are friends. "They're very friendly, very nice people," Stewart said of the couple. "In a way, kind of shy -- not shy on the screen, at all, if you've seen any of Blake's movies -- but very shy in person. But she's a baker and a homemaker and now she's starting her own blog [Preserve] ... I haven't seen it yet."
How did these three become such good pals? "[Lively] moved into my neighborhood a couple of years ago with Ryan -- before they got married they bought a house right around the corner from my house," Stewart, 73, explained. "And they started to come over, not to borrow sugar, but just as friends."
Lively also gushed about her friendship with Stewart in her recent Vogue interview. "I've only ever found her to be completely generous and kind," the 26-year-old actress said. "She's one of those people who connect people with each other. She's there for you."
