Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard kissed for the very first time, as they married in Jill's hometown of Springdale, Arkansas, People reports.
The 19 Kids & Counting star, 23, reportedly wed Derick at the Cross Church in front of 1,000 family and friends, including dad Jim Bob, 48, and mom Michelle, 47. For the ceremony, Jill enlisted five of her sisters as bridesmaids, two brothers as groomsmen and five brothers as ushers. Her sisters and a niece served as flower girls and a brother and nephew operated as ring-bearers.
Jill and Dillard, 25, famously waited until their wedding day before they shared their first kiss.
"I think it is safer and makes it more special to wait to kiss until your wedding day," Jill told People when she and Dillard entered into a courtship. "To save the physical side of your marriage for your wedding day and not going further than you should -- we want to have no regrets."
Dillard agreed, telling People, "You can really get to know each other on every level without the physical part of it. I am the most blessed man to have Jill."
The couple also refrained from holding hands until their engagement.
Jill and Dillard's relationship began after first meeting in Nepal. They kept in touch via email and Skype and later began courting.
