People.com reports that Etheridge and Wallem, the creator of Showtime's Nurse Jackie, exchanged I do's in an intimate outdoor ceremony at the foot of the Santa Ynez Mountain range in front of family, friends and celebrities that included Jane Lynch, Chelsea Handler, Rosie O’Donnell, Whitney Cummings, Peter Facinelli and recording artist Sia. The event happened just two days after the pair, who share the same birthday, turned 53.

Etheridge wore a grey suit, while Wallem wore a white dress. During the ceremony, Etheridge sang a new song she wrote especially for her love. Etheridge's four children -- Bailey Jean Cypher, 17; Beckett Cypher, 15; and twins Miller Steven Etheridge and Johnnie Rose Etheridge, 7 -- all participated in the nuptials.
The newlyweds head out on their honeymoon Sunday morning, a location picked by Etheridge that will reportedly be a surprise to her new spouse.
The happy couple have been friends for more than a decade and started dating in 2010, announcing their engagement last June after the Defense of Marriage Act and California's Proposition 8 were deemed unconstitutional.
