ET confirms that George Lopez was arrested for public intoxication after passing out on the floor of a Canadian casino.
George Lopez spoke out Friday about his arrest for public intoxication after passing out on the floor of a Canadian casino Thursday night, explaining in his usual irreverent style that he had "tied one on" and was "trying to sleep it off," unfortunately in the wrong place.
Lopez said in a statement, "Tied one on last night. Not feeling great this morning. I was trying to sleep it off, unfortunately, it was on the casino floor." A photo online showed Lopez apparently passed out on a vividly patterned casino carpet.
Ontario Provincial Police tells ET that at 10:49 p.m. a male by the name of George Lopez, age 52 of Burbank, CA was arrested at Caesars Windsor Casino for being intoxicated in a public place. The OPP has a unit stationed inside the casino that handles law enforcement, and its officers arrested Lopez and turned him over to Windsor Police Department. Lopez was reportedly released a time later and not charged with any infractions.
