Scarlett Johansson on the Making of 'Her'
Scarlett Johansson never appears on screen for one of her most highly regarded performances as the voice of a computer operating system in Her and the actress spilled details on her experience making the movie.
"I came into doing Her in the post-production part of the process," said Johansson. "For me, a lot of it was a very isolated experience."
Some thought that Johansson was snubbed by the Oscars, having gone without a nomination, but the 29-year-old seemed content with delivering a performance satisfactory to director Spike Jonze.
"More than anything, I'm really excited for Spike," said Johansson. "It's something that he's worked on for years. It's extremely personal for him … It's a child for him in a way."
Despite Johansson's shutout, the film has been nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
Johansson also shared one of her must-haves while working on set -- her SodaStream soda maker.
"I've literally had the SodaStream for six years or something," said Johansson, who recently became the company's first global brand ambassador.
"It's a product that I believe in," said Johansson. "It's a product that I feel proud about being the face of."
SodaStream is the world's leading manufacturer and distributor of home beverage carbonation systems, which enable consumers to easily transform ordinary tap water into carbonated sparkling water.
"I think the way that the company ended up finding me was that I kept calling them to have bottles delivered to areas where I didn't know if I could find the carbonated bottles," said Johansson. "It's like a fateful meeting."
