Keith Urban Responds to 'American Idol' Fight

ET caught up with Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman last night at the The Paperboy premiere during the New York Film Festival in New York City last night, where the American Idol judge commented on the fight caught on tape between new Idol judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.

In the video, Urban is awkwardly sandwiched between the two during the judging panel, and can be seen throwing up his hands up in the air during the expletive-filled argument.

"You know -- we're four passionate people, some more so than others, and we're very intense artists and it comes out in different ways," he tells ET. "But the great thing is we've been hearing killer singers."

As to whether there's still lingering drama on the Idol set, Urban says that the day's filming was actually "great."

"We're putting the fun back in dysfunction, that's what we're doing," he jokes.
