The 36-year-old pop songstress took to Instagram on Sunday to share the good news that she welcomed her first child, a boy, with husband Matt Robinson in late December. She posted a photo of herself holding up a coffee cup that read "Mum" as she laid in bed in a hospital gown.
"Omg! Guess what just happened at the very end of this year!" she wrote. "The happiest new Year ever!"
It seems Bedingfield didn't quite realize she would close out the year with her son making his debut. Just one day earlier, she'd captioned a photo of her baby bump: "And of course my favorite memory of this year is being blessed with the promise of a baby boy. I can’t wait to meet you very soon!"
The "Unwritten" singer announced that she was pregnant in October. She and Robinson wed in 2009.
