The 'Malibu' singer's new music will address her and Liam's split and rekindled romance.
Miley Cyrus is singing again, and it's a song about love.
The "Malibu" singer teased lyrics from her forthcoming new music via Twitter on Friday, and from the look of things, it appears to address the 24-year-old artist's ended engagement to Liam Hemsworth, as well as how they found their way back to romance.
"It's supposed to be this hot all summer long," the quote reads. "I never would've believed you if 3 years ago you told me I'd be here writing this song..."
Miley's new single is set to drop on May 11, with a new album presumably arriving later this year.
In her recent Billboard cover story, the pop star addressed her rekindled relationship with Liam, with an explanation that almost word for word resembles the teased lyric.
“I never would’ve believed you if three years ago you told me I’d be here writing this song,” Miley said of the candid tune. “They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel’?”
Meanwhile, could Miley's new music include some in-the-family collaborations?
