"I'm gonna do [a new album] slowly but surely," the singer told Billboard for their latest cover story, out Friday. "There's a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I'm gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it's not my full priority right now."
Though family remains her first priority, the singer did hit the studio back in September to record a track with rapper Iggy Azalea. Rumor has it, the duet will be the first single off the upcoming album.
Spears is also still under contract for her Las Vegas residency show, Britney: Piece of Me at Planet Hollywood, through the end of 2015. So far the singer has performed nearly 100 shows in Vegas, grossing more than $42 million in ticket sales according to Caesars Entertainment.

Unfortunately for Britney fans, the singer’s Vegas success may ultimately delay the album, as Spears and Planet Hollywood are in talks to extend her residency through 2017.
"Right now we're just concentrating on putting out a few great singles as they come," Spears' manager Larry Rudolph told Billboard. "We're not really talking seriously about a new album yet. Albums just aren't as important in the digital age as they used to be. Britney will get to one eventually, but not right now."
