In the interview, Madonna is asked about a 1994 appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman where the singer repeatedly dropped "F-bombs" at the late-night talk show host, and casually explains to Stern how dating the late rapper might have led to that moment.
"I don't know, I was in a weird mood that day," she said of the appearance. "I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time, and the thing is he got me all riled up about life in general. So when I went on the show I was feeling very gangster."

Though she claimed that the public was already "in the know" about the romance, the revelation shocked even Stern and co-host Robin Quivers.
"That’s shocking to me," Stern told Madonna. "That’s never been out there, I don’t think."
