The six-time GRAMMY nominee embraces a sad Christmas ballad.
Grab your hot cocoa, Sam Smith has a holiday treat.

Accompanied by just a piano, Smith expertly croons his way through the sad tune for a simple, no-frills -- dare we say, haunting -- rendition of the Christmas staple and even cracks a smile at the end of the performance.
Smith is no stranger to covers, as he's done his best Beyonce, Whitney Houston and Tracy Chapman. And others have covered his hit "Stay With Me" too, from Kelly Clarkson to Chris Brown. Even Vin Diesel got in on the action!

At the GRAMMYs, the soulful "Stay With Me" singer will go up against the likes of Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, Pharrell Williams, Beyonce and Meghan Trainor in the top GRAMMY categories, including Album, Record and Song of the Year.
Earlier this month he dropped by The Ellen Show to talk about his decision to publicly come out as gay just prior to the May release of his album, In the Lonely Hour.
“It felt like a brave thing to do ... I wanted to do it before because if I did it afterwards people probably would have thought I was lying just to sell records,” Smith said.
