He sure doesn't look sick.
He doesn't look under the weather. Sam Smith tweeted in sick to work Wednesday to karaoke with friends instead, and videos of those amateur performances have surfaced.
The "Stay With Me" singer was caught on camera having a karaoke session, reportedly with his backup singers, in Nashville, TN on Tuesday night -- but if you're looking to hear his amazing vocals, it wasn't that kind of performance. Smith and his friends first belted out the lyrics to Destiny's Child hit "Say My Name," before going into a rendition of Beyonce's song "Flawless."

The karaoke session might have gotten Smith in some hot water with fans. After his Nashville concert, the singer tweeted that he was feeling too sick to greet fans after the show. He wrote: "Nashville, sorry I can't come out to say hey tonight after the show!! Still not feeling 100% and need to sleep!! So sorry xxxx."
At 3 a.m. that morning/night, Smith was magically feeling better and tweeted: "Best night EVER at a karaoke bar in Nashville!!!!!!!!!"
He's yet to tweet a response to his mixed messages.
These fun (yet sloppy) karaoke performances pale in comparison to the 22-year-old singer's cover of Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know" that he recorded for SiriusXM. He has also covered Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" and, unlike his "Flawless" cover, his version is perfection.
ET pegged Smith as an "Artist You Should Know" earlier this year, and he's certainly proven us right. Check out our fun interview with the R&B singer, below:
