Robin Thicke opens up about split from Paula Patton.
It's been a month since Robin Thicke and Paula Patton announced they were separating after eight years of marriage and now Robin is opening up about how the two are handling their split so far.
"We're both doing well. We're both very happy right now -- much happier," the 37-year-old crooner told People magazine in one of his first interviews since the separation. "Everything about this moment in my life -- this amazing year I just had and what I'm going through personally -- has actually ignited some of the best writing I've done in a long time."

Thicke also spoke about why he made frequent references to Paula during his current U.S. tour. "My music is very honest about what I'm going through and my songs are about my life. And my relationship with her was 21 years of my life, so I just thought it was important to me to let people know how much she means to me."
Even though Patton, 38, has yet to publicly acknowledge his public messages, Thicke revealed that she was touched by his gestures. "She loved it. She thought it was the sweetest thing and very romantic, and I've always been a romantic guy that way.”
The Blurred Lines singer told the magazine that his feelings about the breakup will be dealt with in his next album and he also provided his goals for the rest of the year. "Just to be a great father and hopefully write some great music, put on some great shows and be a great friend to Paula."
