Paris Jackson is giving it up to Zendaya.
The daughter to the late Michael Jackson took to Twitter on Tuesday to dismiss critics of Zendaya's casting in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
"Unfortunately some people have to work harder to get recognition for their talent. Sick world we live in," the 19-year-old actress tweeted. "Zendaya still slays as usual."
Jackson was initially reacting as a subtweet to a Zendaya fan who called out a racist tweet calling for a boycott of the film due to Zendaya's skin color.
In case you haven't been following it, the backstory on the casting controversy is an annoyingly persistent misconception that her character in the new reboot film is Peter Parker's classic love interest, Mary Jane. And not that it would even matter if she was, but the 20-year-old actress set the record straight back in November about what character she plays.
"I'm not Mary Jane, unfortunately, but I am in the movie," the actress told ET. "My character's name is Michelle."

Anyway, the most important thing to note is that Zendaya does in fact slay with her role in the superhero reboot film, just as she did at the red carpet premiere.
Watch the video below for what she told ET about exchanging clothes with co-star Tom Holland.
