The Hollywood actress dished on her marriage to Benji Madden during Goop's Wellness Summit on Saturday.
Cameron Diaz has to do what's right for herself.
The Bad Teacher star opened up about stepping back from acting during Goop's Wellness Summit in Culver City, California, on Saturday.
"I just went, 'I can't really say who I am to myself.' Which is a hard thing to face up to," the 44-year-old actress shared. "I felt the need to make myself whole."

One thing Diaz hasn't stepped back from is her love for husband Benji Madden. As for waiting until she was in her forties to tie the knot with the Good Charlotte rocker in 2015, Diaz explained that she was in no rush to find the right person.
"I think it's a matter of I just hadn't met my husband, you know?" she reasoned. "I had boyfriends before. And there's a really, really distinct difference between husbands and boyfriends. And I have a husband who is just my partner in life and in everything."

"We are so different from one another, but we share the same values," she added. "We're totally two peas in a pod. We are both just weird enough for each other."
Diaz went on to explain that what makes Madden different from many men is that he treats her as a human, and not an object.

"We women are objectified so much," she said. "Somehow my husband has just been able to show me what it's like not to have that be a part of a relationship, and being an equal."
Sounds like a couple that shares quite the bond!
