Garry Marshall's 1987 comedy, Overboard, is being reimagined for the big screen!
Garry Marshall's 1987 comedy, Overboard, is being reimagined -- but with a twist!
ET has learned that the remake will feature Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez in the starring roles.

The original film starred Goldie Hawn as Joanna Stayton, a selfish, cruel heiress, and Kurt Russell, who played Dean Proffitt, a working-class handyman who takes a job aboard Joanna's yacht. When Joanna falls overboard and develops amnesia, Dean takes advantage of the opportunity to get even with her.
The updated version will have a role reversal, as this time it's Derbez's character who is the selfish socialite and Faris plays a blue-collar single mom. When the spoiled playboy goes overboard, Faris' character convinces him that he's her husband.
"The original Overboard was beloved and the only way to bring it back is to reinvent the story in a whole new way," said Jonathan Glickman, MGM Motion Picture Group president. "Anna and Eugenio are two of the most charismatic forces in comedy whose take on the material will modernize the story for a whole new generation of moviegoers."
This marks a return to film for Faris, who has been starring in the CBS comedy Mom, which is now in its fourth season.
Derbez can next be seen in the comedy How to Be a Latin Lover, opening April 28, in which he plays a fading gigolo. Watch the video below to hear the worst pick-up line he's ever used in real life.
