The 'Twilight' star is the first American actress to win this coveted award.

The film, which is directed by Olivier Assayas, centers on actress Maria Enders (Juliette Binoche) after she agrees to star in a new production of a play that launched her career two decades earlier. Stewart plays Maria’s loyal assistant Valentine.
Stewart, who starred as Bella in the hugely popular Twilight franchise, admitted backstage at the Cesar Awards that she finds herself leaning toward movie-making in France.
“The reasons why people make films here in France are very different from the reasons why people make movies in Hollywood and I prefer it here a little bit,” she said backstage, Variety reports.

And it looks like she’s staying put, as the Still Alice star revealed that she’s set to star in another French film! Plus, her next movie – the sci-fi romance Equals, co-starring Jennifer Lawrence’s ex Nicholas Hoult – may be her most freeing experience yet.
"In Equals, there was no f***ing expectation," she said in Interview. "One day we didn't finish something; we didn't feel it, we weren't in the right mood to shoot it. So we postponed it. There is not a moment where we filled a blank with a lie.
Recently, Stewart defended her work in the Twilight saga, which haven’t been critically well-received but made more than $3.34 billion for the combined five films at the global box office.
"Anybody who wants to talk s*** about Twilight, I completely get it, but there's something there that I'm endlessly, and to this day, f***ing proud of," she said. "My memory of it felt -- still feels -- really good."
