Multiple trade publications are reporting that Sony Pictures has partnered up with the Disney-owned company to bring a new version of Spider-Man to the big screen -- and it doesn't look like this version of the flying protagonist will include Andrew Garfield in the role.

The new Spider-Man is to first be introduced in an upcoming Marvel movie, and The Hollywood Reporter predicts this will be in Captain America: Civil War. The web-yielding superhero was a major character in the comic book storyline.
After the character is introduced, Sony will then release a new Spider-Man movie on July 28, 2017.
