From animated to live action, some of your favorite Disney classics are coming back to theaters, but with a twist!
Maleficent is in theaters this weekend, a re-telling of Sleeping Beauty from the point of the view of the Villainess, played by Angelina Jolie. Maleficient follows a trend set by Disney's 101 Dalmatians (starring Glenn Close) and Tim Burton's 3D adaptation of Alice in Wonderland of taking an old Disney cartoon flick and giving it a live action makeover. But those aren't the only house of mouse classics getting a reboot.
The re-telling of Cinderella has released its first teaser video. The film, which is due March 2015, stars Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham-Carter and Lily James. Emma Watson was reportedly offered the role of Cinderella but had to drop out due to a Beauty and The Beast adaption also coming soon.
From land to the sea, The Little Mermaid is also being made into a live action flick. Deadline reports the Sofia Coppola is in talks to direct the film.
