Robert Pattinson: 'I'm so bad at auditions.'
Robert Pattinson is currently getting plenty of praise for his role as a damaged drifter in The Rover, with multiple critics calling it the best performance of his career.
According to Pattinson, who recently sat down with ET Canada at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival to talk about his two films debuting at the festival -- The Rover and Maps to the Stars -- he fought hard for the role, which he had to audition for despite his formidable status in Hollywood.

"I'm so bad at auditioning, and I was terrified that I wasn't going to get it," Pattinson admitted to ET Canada. "I really, really fought for it."
In the film, Pattinson plays Rey, who becomes an unwitting accomplice to Eric, a ruthless, hardened ex-soldier (Guy Pearce) in a post-apocalyptic world.
"It's a character that doesn't really have any constraints," he said. "It's not really specified where he's from or what his desires are or even his mental state and I felt really relaxed doing it because you could just do whatever you wanted, basically."
