42 star Chadwick Boseman portrays the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, in a new warts-and-all biopic from the director of The Help, and ET's Rocsi Diaz is exclusively on the Mississippi set!
After portraying baseball great Jackie Robinson in 42, Chadwick Boseman is tackling the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, in a new warts-and-all biopic from the director of The Help, and ET's Rocsi Diaz is exclusively on the Mississippi set of Get On Up to get Chad's take on the legendary music icon!
In theaters August 1, 2014, Get On Up takes a fearless look inside the music, moves and moods of Brown, taking audiences on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. Spanning from Brown's youth in the 1930s all the way up to the 1990s, the drama co-stars Viola Davis (as Susie Brown, James Brown's absentee mother) and Dan Aykroyd (as Ben Bart, Brown's longtime, at times contentious manager), as well as Octavia Spencer, Nelsan Ellis, Lennie James, Tika Sumpter and Jill Scott.
