Chase and D'Angelo are expected to reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold, according to Variety, starring as the parents of a grown up Rusty Griswold, played by Helms. Now a married man (to none other than Christina Applegate), Rusty has his own family and gets into some brand-new misadventures on the road in an effort to recapture his fond memories of visiting Wally World. Along the way, he makes a pit stop to see mom and dad.
Chase and D'Angelo recently revisited their characters in a series of Old Navy ads this past holiday season. While their characters have remained the same, the actors that have played Rusty and his sister Audrey have consistently revolved since the first Vacation film in 1983, all the way through 1985's European Vacation, 1989's Christmas Vacation and 1997's Vegas Vacation, and one Old Navy spot makes fun of that fact.
