This is how the actress referred to the prince during the early days of their romance!
“London” had a whole other meaning on the set of Suits, according to a new interview with actor Wendell Pierce!
Pierce plays Meghan Markle’s screen father, Robert, on the USA Network series, and on Tuesday he dished on how the 36-year-old actress used to refer to her budding romance with Prince Harry, now her fiancé.
“She met this nice guy and we always talked about him in code, really,” Pierce shared on Harry Connick Jr.'s show Harry. “You know, ‘How you doing?’ ‘Oh, I’m going to London, coming from London, whatever.’”
Following the couple’s engagement, Markle was confirmed to be exiting the series, following seven seasons playing Rachel Zane, during which she embarked on a long-distance romance with Prince Harry while filming the show in Canada.
Her final episodes will air when the remainder of season seven premieres on Mar. 28., and Pierce, 54, opened up about his final days filming with Markle.
“I had a really wonderful moment as we were coming to an end of her time on the show,” he said. “It was just she and I in the room and I said, ‘I know your life is going to change, but always know, no matter where you are, I will always be your loving fake father.’”
Markle is set to tie the knot with the 33-year-old royal at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in England on May 19. Find out the latest on the wedding below.
