The 30-year-old country star looked gorgeous next to her boyfriend as she channeled the 'Garden of Time' theme.
Kelsea Ballerini has entered her high fashion era. The 30-year-old songstress dazzled in her Met Gala debut, gracing the storied red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the first time on Monday.
Ballerini wore a pink and purple flowery gown for the occasion. By her side was her boyfriend of one year, Outer Banks star Chase Stokes. The 31-year-old actor looked dapper in a shimmery black suit with no shirt underneath.
They were later spotted at the Carlyle Hotel, with Ballerini changing into a daring nude look.
ET was with Ballerini last month at the 2024 CMT Music Awards, where she dished on whether she and Stokes have any plans to make music together amid fan requests for a collab.
"He has such a good voice," she said. "He has such a good talking voice, just when he sings I'm like, 'Agh, yeah.'"
Ballerini added, "I'm trying. I'm just like, 'Do like a pseudonym and sing a harmony on the record, no one has to know.'"
The musician said that working on her next album is her "biggest priority" this year, but she's open to more new projects.
Stokes, meanwhile, is in production on the highly-anticipated upcoming season of Netflix's Outer Banks, in which he plays the show's main character, John B. The show's third season dropped in February 2023 and season 4 is expected to hit the streaming platform at some point in 2024, according to Netflix.
As for whether or not Ballerini would make an appearance on his show, it's not off the table.
"I love going to see him on set and this season is incredible, I'm so excited for everyone," she said. "Just like he's here tonight just being supportive and lovely, I love being able to do the same for him."
The star-studded 2024 Met Gala -- helmed by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour -- features the theme "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" as a nod to fashion history. The Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibition theme -- curated and organized by The Costume Institute -- features 250 items from its permanent collection displayed in a new, innovative way.
Wintour has served as co-chair of the Met Gala since 1995, the year Vogue's partnership with the Met Gala began. This year's co-chairs also include Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny.
This year's dress code is The Garden of Time, which is inspired by J.G. Ballard's 1962 short story of the same title. According to Vogue, "the most obvious interpretation would be to embrace the 'garden' part of 'The Garden of Time.' Think melancholic florals (as moody florals aren’t moody enough)."
