The couple announced their split via social media on Sunday.
John Cena is finding strength in hardship.
In his first tweet since the public announcement of his split with fiancee Nikki Bella, the 40-year-old WWE wrestler wrote of perseverance through hard times.
"Hardship, loss, and humility are extremely difficult waters to navigate," he tweeted on Monday. "But perseverance thru them builds a strength to withstand anything life throws your way."
On Sunday, Cena followed the announcement of the split -- which came via a statement on Bella's Instagram -- with his own Instagram post, sharing a Simpsons meme captioned: "Worst day ever!"
The pro-wrestling power couple, who had been together for six years, famously got engaged at last year's Wrestlemania 33 after they won the mixed tag team match.
More recently, there were hints of troubled waters and the Blockers star opened up to ET in March about the "hard work" that goes into a relationship.
"It's a weird thing that our relationship is public for the world to know, [but] what a good takeaway for the folks at home -- relationships are tough," Cena said at the time. "It's hard work, and a lot of times, it has to do with looking at yourself."
