After winning the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for 'The Disaster Artist,' Franco sweetly dedicated it to his brother and co-star.
Here's a handful of people we never expected to see together: Emma Stone, Shirley MacLaine, Dave and James Franco and The Room writer-director-star Tommy Wiseau. Alas, it happened when James Franco won Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for The Disaster Artist at the 2018 Golden Globes.
"First person I have to thank is the man himself, Tommy Wiseau," Franco said after accepting the award from Stone and MacLaine. Wiseau then came onstage to surprised applause and tried to steal the mic, with Franco quickly stopping him with a nervous laugh.
"Nineteen years ago, he was stuck in traffic from the Golden Globes," Franco said before doing a Tommy Wiseau impression in front of Tommy Wiseau. "He said to his best friend, Greg, 'Golden Globes, so what? I wasn't invited'...I'm very happy to share this moment with him today."
Franco also brought his brother and co-star to the stage and saved his best thanks for last. “When I went to NYU, I said I wanted my own Coen brother to create. I realized I have my own Franco brother," he concluded. "Thanks to my mother for giving him to me."
