Did they snap selfies in those days? George Clooney joins the cast of Downton Abbey as part of ITV's Text Santa Christmas Charity, an annual fundraiser benefiting six U.K. charities, and it looks like he's fitting right in with this period drama!

You'll need some stuffed animals, a cup of kittens, a unicorn, the world's cutest dog, a baby and an internationally known boy band to pull off a selfie of such adorable proportion. Jimmy Kimmel managed it on Nov. 20, 2014 when he pulled out his selfie pole on his late-night show and snapped a pic with One Direction.

Vin Diesel and Aubrey Plaza managed to snap a selfie on July 29, 2014 that was both disturbing and adorable. The Parks and Recreation star captioned her twitpic with the Fast & Furious actor, writing: "WHAT DID I EAT FOR BREAKFAST?? ummm VIN DIESEL YUMMMMM #GMA."

Jordin Sparks and her shirtless boyfriend Jason Derulo snapped a selfie in bed on May 25, 2014. The American Idol alum Instagrammed: "This is the end result face that happens when I'm trying to get @jasonderulo to smile! It took an hour!! Lmao! #talksmilestome #smilingismyfavorite."

Even Pope Francis is taking selfies! Twitter user Edward Pentin shared this twitpic of the smiling Catholic church leader on March 19, 2014, writing: "@pontifex in new selfie with newlyweds at today's weekly general audience."

Oprah's first attempt at a selfie resulted in this amusing photo of her and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom star Idris Elba at the 45th NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena, Calif! "My first selfie. Love @idriselba!," she tweeted, to which Elba responded, "Did I just photo bomb Oprah???"

Kim Kardashian flashed her post-baby body in a seriously sexy selfie on Jan. 4, 2014. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star captioned her workout pic of her and a friend, writing: "Getting right for the new year."

Even Prince William is taking selfies. Tween Madison Lambe was able to snap a close-up photo of the prince when the royal family came to Sandringham for a holiday church service, BBC News reports.

In a UK consumer poll taken by HTC One, Rihanna was voted to have the best celebrity selfies, beating out Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga. On Aug. 11, 2013, Rihanna shared yet another great Instagram pic, writing: "This is my 'BREAKING BAD IS ON TONIGHT, AND I STILL HAVE 3 EPISODES LEFT BEFORE I CAN WATCH IT' face."

Pushing 60 and 50, Christie Brinkley and Brooke Shields attempted to recreate a famous pose they did in 1987 at a New York movie premiere (check it out HERE). The gals ran into each other at New York's Park Avenue Garage Spring Sale where the two snapped the silly selfie, with Brinkley writing on Facebook: "Hey Bloggers! Upon meeting Vice President Joe Biden, Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who plays the vice president on the HBO show, shared on Conan that Biden grabbed her camera and snapped a selfie while the two were in the back of his motorcade.
