Instead of million dollar gowns and hours of back-patting, J. Law chose to freeze in snowy Boston and go shopping at a local mall.
After the Oscars came and went, we were left with a number of burning questions. But none were quite as pressing as: Where was Jennifer Lawrence and why wasn't she there to liven up the ceremony?!
As it turns out, she decided that freezing in Boston snow was more fun than attending the Academy Awards.

The star was spotted shopping at a mall, bundled up to the nines, and carrying her tiny dog Pippi. Wearing 10 layers of weather-proof clothing is still more comfortable than squeezing into a tiny, poufy dress.
The Hunger Games star -- who has been nominated for Oscars three times in the last five years, winning once -- has been in Boston working on the upcoming bio-pic Joy, the real-life story of Joy Mangano, a single mom who became a world-famous entrepreneur after inventing the Miracle Mop.

Joy is directed by David O. Russell, who previously worked with Lawrence on American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook, for which Lawrence took home her Oscar.
