ET has learned that Sarah Paulson will be bringing Marcia Clark, the star prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson trial, as her date to the Emmy Awards.
Television Academy President and COO Maury McIntyre confirmed the news to ET on Wednesday after Paulson was coy with us last month.
At the time, Paulson confirmed that her girlfriend, Holland Taylor, would not be on her arm for the event, but refrained from giving any more details.
Paulson's very special plus-one could be her good luck charm. The 41-year-old actress is favored to take home her first Emmy for portraying Clark in the FX limited series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Paulson's co-stars Cuba Gooding Jr. (who played Simpson), Courtney B. Vance (who played Johnnie Cochran), Sterling K. Brown (who played Christopher Darden), John Travolta (who played Robert Shapiro) and David Schwimmer (who played Robert Kardashian) have also been nominated for their performances.
Paulson is also nominated for the supporting roles of Hypodermic Sally and Billie Dean Howard on American Horror Story.
While she's been nominated four times before, this year's double nod mixed with the show's immense popularity have pushed her to seriously think about writing an acceptance speech.
"I probably will write something only because I never have before, but then the last year when I went, so many people got up there with speeches, and some of the people have been up there a million times and they still get up there with speeches," she told ET last month. "And I thought, 'It's probably the better way to do it' because I just fear I would get up there and white out and be like 'bluehhheh.'"
The 68th Emmy Awards will air live on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT on ABC.
