On Wednesday, the Screen Actors Guild announced the nominees for the 21st annual SAG Awards, honoring achievements in film and TV performances. Among the top film nominees are Birdman and Boyhood, which have been leading the pack in nearly every accolade so far. On the TV side, Modern Family and Game of Thrones ran away with the most nominations in their respective genres.

The SAG Awards are considered to be one of the major honors of the season and a strong precursor of the Academy Awards. Last year, the four SAG Award winners – for Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress – went on to take home the Oscar in their respective categories.
